Dexter Industries Releases new Firmware for the dGPS Sensor for LEGO MINDSTORM
LEGO MINDSTORM's first GPS Sensor Provides Altitude Information

WASHINGTON, DC, September 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dexter Industries, a leader in LEGO MINDSTORMS sensors, announces that it has developed new firmware for their GPS sensor for LEGO MINDSTORMS system. This sensor is the first GPS sensor for the Lego MINDSTORMS NXT.

The new firmware provides information on GPS Altitude, Satellites in View, and Horizontal Dilution of Precision (HDOP). The new firmware solidly establishes Dexter Industries as a leader sensors for Lego MINDSTORMS NXT.

The dGPS sensor by Dexter Industries for the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT sensor is the first sensor for Lego MINDSTORMS NXT to offer GPS information for robotic systems. The sensor was originally released by Dexter Industries in November of 2010 and has undergone a number of hardware improvements.

The sensor is specifically geared towards middle-school and high-school STEM programs. In particular it will have educational applications in high school physics, math, and engineering.
